Advanced Sock Boot Camp

Up your sock knitting game!

6 Mondays: March 2, 23, 30 / April 13, 27, and May 11 from 5-7pm

Do you love knitting socks and want to learn more? In this class you will learn tips and tricks for more professional looking and fitting socks. We'll learn how to knit socks more efficiently on different needles, create different shaped heels for a better fit, improve your cuff cast on, knit toe up socks two at a time, and so much more!

SKILL LEVEL

Intermediate/Advanced If you know everything in the required experience section below, you know enough to take this class! 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
To take this class you must know how to make a basic sock and be comfortable with the following techniques: long tail cast on, knit, purl, working in the round, working in a rib, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, weaving in ends, reading patterns, kitchener stitch.

• How to choose and customize sizes
• Different cast ons/bind offs for cuffs 
• Knitting on different styles of needles
• Knitting different heels (diamond, german short row, and fleegle)
• Toe up and cuff down sock knitting
• Knitting two socks at a time
• Checking your gauge
• Judy's magic cast on / Italian bind off
• Changing colors for heels, cuffs, and toes

WHAT'S INCLUDED 

12 hours of instruction, A copy of The Sock Project book by Summer Lee, 1 Skein of Opal sock yarn, One Skein of Uni Merino Sock yarn, 5 skeins of Uni Merino Mini sock yarn.  

YOU WILL ALSO NEED

Sock needles of your choice of style in the size that you regularly use to get your gauge.
