Augusta is worked in the round top down, with steeks. The cardigan uses three colors, one main color and two contrasting colors. We love the simplicity of this beautiful cardigan; it's perfect for a steek class that has just enough interest combined with easy knitting.
A steek is a knitting technique involving extra "bridge" stitches and comes from a Scottish word for a "stitch" or "closure". A small extra column of stitches (usually 5 to 10 wide) added to a knitted tube. It lets you keep knitting in a circle instead of turning back and forth. You secure the extra stitches with sewing or crochet, then cut right down the middle to make openings for cardigans, armholes, or necklines.
